In this video, the panelists Valeska Pederson Hintz with Perkins Coie and Lilya Tessler with Sidley talk to Gautam Gujral about regulatory developments in the crypto/blockchain industry. They speak on recent cases with the SEC regarding different crypto companies and regulation of their tokens or their platforms. You will learn about ways to make a crypto company function while also being regulated by the SEC, and ways to deal with regulatory cases that may come your way.

Valeska Pederson Hintz’s practice focuses on the areas of corporate and securities laws. She represents entrepreneurs and investors in venture financings and regularly manages mergers and acquisition and special purpose acquisition company (SPAC transactions), tender offers, joint ventures, and general corporate representation on behalf of public and late-stage private companies and private equity funds. Valeska also assists public companies, underwriters, and investors with public offerings and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting and compliance.

Lilya Tessler is a partner and the head of Sidley’s FinTech and Blockchain group, which is recognized as a Band 1 practice in the 2022 Chambers Fintech guide and was named “FinTech Practice Group of the Year” by Law360 (2020). She focuses her practice on representing digital asset trading platforms, blockchain technology companies, U.S. and non-U.S. broker-dealers, financial services firms and cryptocurrency funds. Lilya is ranked in Band 1 in the 2022 Chambers Fintech guide in the USA Legal: Blockchain & Cryptocurrencies category and was named a “Rising Star” in Fintech by Law360 (2019).
